ENGLISH AS AN ADDITIONAL LANGUAGE
 
Students can attend the college for one term, one year or for several years as preparation for higher education in Britain or other English speaking countries. All students have the opportunity to take an E.A.L. qualification during their time with us.

At Mount St. Mary's College we have many years of experience of teaching EAL. All our teachers are fully qualified and have the expertise to address the differing needs of our students.

EXAMINATIONS

Cambridge Suite We can prepare students for the following examinations in the Cambridge English 'Suite'
K.E.T. KEY English Test - Level 1
P.E.T. Preliminary English Test -Level 2
F.C.E. First Certificate in English -Level 3
C.A.E. Cambridge Advanced English - Level 4

EXAMINATIONS FOR UNIVERSITY ENTRANCE

Universities IELTS - International English Language Testing System Universities require Level 6.5 and above or GCSE English Language Grade B.

BUSINESS ENGLISH
 


We can offer Business English Certificate, Preliminary and Vantage Levels, to our overseas students studying in the Sixth Form.



SELF ACCESS

We have a wide variety of graded materials. These range from computer software, videos, grammar and vocabulary worksheets along with listening practice. All students are encouraged to make use of these facilities in their free time.
