Mount St Mary's Statement: Exam results

Statement by Mount St Mary’s College:

Recent League Table Reports

Mount St Mary’s College would like to assure parents and applicants to the school that the recent league tables reported within a national newspaper were inaccurate.

The results were reported in the public domain from information issued by the Department of Education. The College had not verified or authorised these results, and had not had the opportunity to check these prior to publication in the media. We anticipate this error being rectified and the correct results being reported on the Department of Education website by mid March.

Mount St Mary’s exam results from 2011 for both GCSE and A-Level can be viewed here. They show a pass rate for GCSE of 72.7% for grades A* to C. For more information, please contact Mrs Maxine Smith, Academic Deputy, on 01246 433388.

Welcome to Mount St Mary's College website

Mount St Mary’s College is a vibrant co-educational boarding and day school in the Catholic tradition, welcoming and catering for the needs of children aged 11-18 from all denominations in a truly ecumenical and happy environment.

Founded in 1842 by Fr Randall Lythgoe, the Provincial Superior of the Society of Jesus, the College is set in beautiful surroundings on the Derbyshire, Nottinghamshire and South Yorkshire borders. Only a few miles away is Barlborough Hall School, the preparatory school to Mount St Mary’s for children aged 3-11.

Both schools are under the trusteeship of the Society of Jesus, more often known as the Jesuits. Our ethos and vision allows us to provide every opportunity for a quality, seamless education, developing the whole child to encourage creativity, diversity and individuality so that our pupils mature into confident, balanced and responsible men and women.

We warmly welcome you to visit our school and see for yourself.
