Scholarships and Bursaries at Mount St Mary's College

Scholarships at Mount St Mary's College
Although Mount St Mary's College is academically non-selective, we reward outstanding talent by offering a number of scholarships every year, available for entry to the school at ages 11, 13 and 16 (for entry to the Sixth Form).  Scholarships are offered for academic excellence, music and sport.  Bursaries are also available, and can be offered in conjunction with scholarships to suitable candidates.

Age 11 - for entry to Year 7 (Upper Elements)

All pupils applying to join the school aged 11 must sit an Entrance Exam.  For entry to Mount St Mary's College in September 2010, the top candidates in the entrance exam on 30th January 2010 will be invited back to sit the scholarship exam on 6th February 2010.  Music scholarships are also available.  If you would like to find out more about our scholarships, please contact Mrs Maxine Smith, the Director of Studies (msmith@msmcollege.com)
Age 13 - for entry to Year 9 (Rudiments)

There are two routes to an academic scholarship at age 13.  Pupils can either sit the Common Entrance test provided by their school, or for those pupils from other schools where the CE is not offered, Mount St Mary's own entrance test of similar difficulty.  The College will invite prospective scholarship candidates, based on their performance in the tests described above, to sit the scholarship paper.  Again, please contact our Director of Studies for more details.

Age 16 - for entry to Year 12 (Poetry)

Academic, sports and music scholarships are all available.  Candidates for the academic scholarships sit an exam, during the spring term of Year 11, in subjects that they may be interested in pursuing at A level.  Students interested in applying for music or sports scholarships will be invited to attend an interview and assessment of their abilities with the Director of Sport or Director of Music.  For further details please contact the Director of Studies, Mrs Maxine Smith (msmith@msmcollege.com)
