The College has a proud sporting reputation and is highly regarded throughout the Midlands and the North of England.

Every student participates in the sporting programme, which offers a variety of activities and opportunities.  All students from the age of 11 through to 18 have compulsory PE and Games. 

We are fortunate to have excellent sporting facilities, which                     comprise of:

•  Fencing Salle

•  Rifle Range

•  New state of the art Grade I Athletics Track

We are also very fortunate to have excellent facilities located nearby for Outdoor Pursuits, Water Sports, Skiing etc.

The Staff at The Mount are very committed to Sport and a large number are actively involved in the coaching and taking of sporting teams to fixtures. We have highly qualified specialists on the Staff for Rugby, Hockey, Cricket, Fencing and Athletics.

We also employ a number of Sports Coaches to assist with the delivery of Hockey, Tennis, Rugby , Swimming and Netball.

Over 80% of the Students have represented the College in fixtures this year within the extra-curricular programme, an outstanding achievement as we compete at a very high level especially in Rugby, Hockey, Athletics, Cricket and Netball.

On our Sporting Circuit we play such Schools as:

• Stonyhurst College, Ampleforth College, RGS Newcastle, St Peters York, Hymers College, Loughborough GS, Welbeck College, Bradford GS, Leeds GS, Worksop College, Nottingham HS, Denstone College, Trent College, Silcoates and numerous other excellent Schools.
